The Royal Watercolour Society is a registered educational charity that receives no funding from the government. We rely solely on the generosity of those who share the same values as the Society and believe that arts education is a crucial aspect of cultural education.
Although the Whitcomb Street Project may appear to have reached it's conclusion, with the official opening of the new RWS Gallery, a lot still remains to be done. The importance is not only on the delivery of an exciting programme of exhibitions and events, but also on the planned relocation of the RWS Collection, from Bankside Gallery into the historic vaults at the RWS Gallery. This proposed move will allow for future generations of Members, artists, and students access to the Collection for research and study.
By supporting us we hope to provide you with an insight into the important place that water-based media has in both the history of British painting and in the contemporary art world.
There are several ways in which you can offer financial support to the Royal Watercolour Society and the RWS Gallery; making a one-off donation, leaving a gift in your Will, or funding a donation to the RWS Collection in the form of RWS artist Julia Midgley's Whitcomb Street Drawings series.
