In this workshop you will be given a comprehensive introduction to creating watercolour landscape paintings. You will learn how to use different watercolour techniques to create different colourways of light and transparency. You will draw inspiration from great landscape watercolourists like JMW Turner and John Singer Sargent, to plan and execute your own landscape watercolour painting.
Over the course of the day you will have learnt how to apply different washes using a broad tonal range, understand some of the qualities of watercolour using a range of techniques including transparency and light effects, develop your understanding of composition, use a range of colours and understand colour mixing.
Suitable for all levels of ability including beginners and those willing to have a go
This workshop will take place at the new RWS Gallery on Whitcomb Street, just off Trafalgar Square.
