Jonathan Huxley was born in Surrey in1965, and trained at Berkshire College of Art 1985-86 and was awarded a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent Polytechnic in 1989. He studied for a Diploma in Fine Art at The Royal Academy of Art 1989-92.
Crane Kalman Gallery first exhibited Huxley's work in 1992 and his paintings have featured frequently in the gallery ever since. In 1993 Huxley was awarded the RA Young Master's Prize and was the subject of the Channel 4 documentary 'Behind the Eye'. He was commissioned to paint a large scale mural by Bermondsey Council, and in 1997 won the award for the most popular painting at the Royal College of Art Show.
